Breast Reduction

• Individuals opt for breast reduction surgery to decrease the size of their breasts and improve their overall shape. Large breasts can lead to issues such as back or neck pain, shoulder indentations from bra straps, and skin irritations beneath the breasts.

The initial step of the procedure involves repositioning the nipple, keeping it attached and so alive, on a ‘stalk’ of tissue (pedicle). Subsequently, excess skin and breast tissue are removed. The remaining skin and tissue are then reshaped to create a smaller, more elevated breast, with the nipple being repositioned accordingly.

There are various types of breast reductions available, and the most suitable option for you depends on the size of your breasts and the extent of reduction desired. Each type of reduction results in different scars on the breasts. However, regardless of the type chosen, these scars should not be visible when wearing regular clothing, bras, or bikini tops.
